I wish I had more time to write here. So many times in the past month I have thought about how much I need to get down about school, the pathetic French college students protesting because the government wants to make changes that would help bolster their suffering economy, the ridiculousness that is the illegal immigrant protests and “illegal immigrant rights” marches, etc. When you are in the last month of school and your body is pushing its limits to keep up while in the last few weeks of pregnancy, sometimes blogging has to take a back seat. Hopefully I will get back in the swing of things over the next few months.
The best news is that last night I managed to finish the last of my schoolwork for the spring semester. Somehow I managed to complete a tough semester of teaching, research, and classwork while being hugely pregnant. I hope that someone in the finance department has some appreciation for how hard it was and what this says about my character and dedication to school and the profession. Of course, we are talking about a bunch of older men who may not have even been in the room when their wives gave birth to their children. Oh well, I proved to myself how hard I am willing to work for this degree and career, and I guess this was just a different kind of marathon than the one I was contemplating a year ago.
